A new year and new beginnings

So… I decided it was high time to join the blogging world. Over the last few years I have found my browsing habits have changed quite a bit. Since I now design, I find I very rarely visit websites offering free patterns – there is only so much one can collect and sew in a lifetime!

What I do like to do on a semi-regular basis is visit quilter’s blogs. In their vast majority, these quilters tend to be young; their choices of patterns and fabrics tend to be “unconventional” and therefore refreshing. I have found them to be a source of inspiration – an invitation to open my mind to new and perhaps more bold ways of quilting.

I hope here to share a little of what goes on in my private world… things that don’t fit within the broader context of this website, but that hopefully are worth sharing.

Thank you for visiting. It’s good to see you here!

Lynda, it was a hard decision, but we decided to close our online pattern shop this year and focus our attention on this website – just getting to be too much to try and keep going both at the same time, so we are going to concentrate on developing this one even more. We will gradually be bringing some of those patterns over for members to enjoy. Any you were interested in particular?

I can understand that, you sound like a very busy person with your blog website and publishing EQ.

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I am learning how to dye my own fabrics and am dabbling with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
