Finished!

Ok, so I didn’t meet my self-imposed deadline to finish the book. Then my editor suggested we aim for February 15. Which was last Friday. Didn’t make that, either. She tells me now that she doubted that was realistic and was really aiming for sometime this week. That was after I sent in my last chapter. So now I’m feeling pretty good… I finished early!

In a matter of speaking. What we’ve finished is the first draft. They’ve been typesetting as I’ve turned my chapters in. Now begins the real editing work. Initially it looked like we were going to have to cut quite a bit out because the book seemed to be turning out too long. But my editor is a whiz at making things fit, so it looks like we’ll be able to keep it all. That makes me happy. (-:

So basically reading through it all again to make sure everything fits and we haven’t forgotten anything. Then proofreading again. Not much longer and this baby will really be born!

Can’t spoil the fun for you, but here’s a little peek at the outline of the last chapter:

This is the fourth EQ6 Companion Book and consists of lessons to learn how to draw appliqué designs with EQ6. The book will be available at quilt stores if they carry EQ6 or else directly from the Electric Quilt Company.
