Farewell lunch

My awesome mother made a wonderful lunch yesterday to wish Jamie and the kids farewell and a good trip today. The day seemed to suit the mood: all travel arrangements had been completed and although there was some packing left, everything had been assembled and there was nothing left to do but enjoy the warm weather and a great day together.

Here was the chance for a few last family pics. Alexia and Julian are always among my favorite subjects…

And then the three Js (Jonathan, Jamela, and Jared)… my beautiful children, my inspiration, and the big loves of my life…

I thought this pic was particularly sweet. I am really glad that these siblings get along so well with each other.

This morning began at 4:00 a.m. and a lot of sleepy heads. Fortunately the airport is only 10 minutes away for us, and no traffic along the way. Jamie and the kids got off without any problems and I have now spent the morning picking up in a very, VERY quiet house.

It just dawned on me that I never took a photograph of the sweater I spent weeks knitting for Jamie. Oh, well. You’ll just have to take my word that it turned out lovely. I did remember, however, to take this picture of Julian wearing the knitted hat he requested. Such a sweet kid!
