Thursday sewing

Now that two of the dove projects are finished, my friends have started (or gone back to) new projects! Although Bachita has finished her dove project (well, except for the binding), she didn’t bring it with her. Hopefully she will next week so we can post photos of the finished project.

Bachita has started working on the Life’s a Hoot! BOM. She prefers hand sewing and is very much the perfectionist. Her stitches are so delicate!

Luchita is still working on her dove project. Since she’s had family visiting for the last month, she hasn’t had as much time to sew, but she’s coming along and should be finished soon. She, too, has become an expert at appliqué and sews dainty, tiny stitches.

Susy is the fast, fast, fast one of the group! She always works quickly and gets a lot accomplished over a short time. She started this hexagon tablecloth before Christmas, but set it aside to start working on the dove. Now that’s finished, she’s gone back to this project and has started to hand quilted it. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she finishes it by next week. Lovely, isn’t it?

Elena is the one person in our group who avoids hand sewing at all costs. I think this is totally understandable, since she is raising a young family and works outside the home. So she has very little time for sewing. Often our Thursday mornings together are the only time she has to sew. She has been working on a large quilt for her bed, and this week finished attaching the border. Quilting will begin on it next week. Sorry about the glare in the picture. I have a window along the entire front of my studio, which makes it bad for taking pictures, but ensures great lighting for sewing!
