Fabric origami star

One of the fun things about this time of year is seeing how other people are creatively inspired. And although I cannot spend as much time blog hopping as I would like, I do make it a point to spend a few minutes every day (okay, half an hour!) checking out creative Christmas crafts.

Yesterday I happened on this absolutely awesome (IMHO) fabric origami star ornament on Zencrafting. Now this isn’t a sewing/quilting blog, so I normally wouldn’t have expected to see something like this here. And there’s a complete tutorial. I love the fabrics she’s used – not your traditional Christmas colors, and absolutely lovely. Maybe you want to give it a try! Just click on the photo to go to the tutorial.

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I am learning how to dye my own fabrics and am dabbling with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
