Flower blocks

Busy week, but I still was able to finish appliquéing my hibiscus blocks last night. Yeah! These are really small blocks – but then, I really like them small. I enjoyed working on these delicate beauties. If you have tried this pattern already, you will probably have found it challenging to deal with the small size and all the inside points of those petals. I tend to prefer working by hand, so found that for these blocks in particular blanket stitch appliqué worked really well. I don’t know why the background fabric looks so blue, when in fact it is quite purple. Bad lighting, I guess.

In view of the approaching Christmas season,  think I’ll have to put these beauties away for a while. Although I’m tempted to cut the sashing strips and at least put the top together… Hmmm… maybe I’ll make the time? (-:
