Quiet weekend

One of the nicest things about holiday weekends living in the city is… the silence. It seems everybody has taken off for the beach, and the city has been abandoned. Which means it is quiet, without the normal traffic noise.

I’m spending the weekend in silence, too. A good time to do a little laundry, a little picking up and organizing… and a lot more hand sewing. Best while watching a movie.

So this is a hexie weekend. These little pieces really multiply fast as I try to control the size of the scrap pile. So it’s time for a little project. This will be a little table topper for a small hexagonal table in my bedroom. I really do enjoy EPP… so relaxing!

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I am learning how to dye my own fabrics and am dabbling with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
