So, with all the wedding hullabaloo, one of the things I had forgotten to post about is my Craftsy 2012 sampler. You’ll remember I started writing about it here.
And yes, I did finish it that same week. Here’s my finished quilt.
You’ll recall I decided to work this as a quilt-as-you-go project, using thin sashing strips to join the quilted blocks. I used a variation of the method Leah Day describes in her class. And I did finish the back by hand.
Is it only me, or do you like to look at quilted backs, too?
I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I am learning how to dye my own fabrics and am dabbling with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.

What a great idea to quilt as you go. That way each block is quilted with ease. Great job, BTW. I love the colors and yes, I love seeing the quilt from the back!!
Wonderful! I also did that sampler, with tons of changes too… Also made it as a quilt-as-you-go project, using it to teach my students both the different techniques and designs, and the joining technique. I’m about to finish it!
