A little machine quilting

I haven’t had much time to sew these last few days. And it was almost two weeks ago that I sandwiched Jamie’s quilt and then had to set it aside. It seems there are just never enough hours in the day to get everything I want done. Sigh.

The good thing about having a nice sized studio is not only being able to spread out  but also being able to leave a project for a while and then come back to it, if only for a few minutes at a time. And it looks like that’s going to be the only way this quilt will bet finished. I do have to put things away for our Thursday sewing circle, since this is where we meet, but I can quickly set things up again afterwards and keep quilting away whenever I have a spare moment.

What I was able to finish was the little table topper I was working on last week. Remember? I just had one more row of hexagons to add around the edges and then quilt it. Small projects I can quilt pretty quickly… it’s the bed -sized ones that seem to take me forever!

I have this little hexagonal table on one side of my bed where things tend to get dumped. It really needs some revamping, but I’m not good with woodworking, so a table topper seemed like a better solution.

This is also the side of the bed where Jamie installs herself on our weekly Friday or Saturday afternoon “dates”. We’ll sit and watch movies for hours while she crochets and I knit or sew. So in honor of her homecoming I figured she should find a pretty space waiting for her. Don’t you?
