Trying to return to normality

I just want to thank all of you who have written expressing concern over the events of the last week here in Ecuador. Once again, it is wonderful to be part of such a caring community. In the aftermath of the violent events that took place last Thursday, we are trying to return to “normal.” I am afraid this will not be easy. Never before had we seen such violence (at this point, six deaths and nearly 200 people injured around the country), or an attempt such as this one against the life of a president. And the image of the police has been severely tarnished. It will take a lot of time to build up that trust again.

We do have to pick up and continue. In my case… quilting helps. (: Once again, thank you for your concern.
