Christmas has *officially* begun!

Julian and Alexia arrived  late Wednesday evening. So none of us got to bed until the wee, wee hours of morning. Yesterday became a day to rest and relax…

… and to celebrate Julian’s birthday, a few days later than the actual date. Lucky Julian. He got two birthday celebrations this year: one back in the U.S. and one here. Not only did he choose his cake (carrot, courtesy of Oma)…

…but he decided to light his own candles…

…cut it, and serve it himself.

Alexia acted as the official photographer. That included taking her own picture.

And this is really what Christmas is about for me. With or without decorations, with or without a tree, what it is really about is family. Where during a busy period, everyone makes the time to sit down, celebrate a child, and enjoy time together. And this is when I am happiest. 🙂
