The First Hexie Flower

2015-016It’s been well over a month, and that’s how long it’s taken me to piece the 37 hexies that make up one of the five large flowers in my Not My Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt.

I don’t always have a lot of time to sit down and sew, but I have taken at least half an hour a day to work on this project. Seen that way, it sure seems like an awful long time to piece the hexies for the first large flower in this quilt. Because that’s all it is… piecing those 37 hexies, that will still have to be joined to another 1063 to form the quilt.

That is, until I started adding up the number of pieces. In this flower alone… 559!  🙂

It looks beautiful. Have you calculated out how long this will take if you keep going at this pace? Have a super day!

I will be amazing, for sure. But I think as Jennifer… it’s a long way, dear… Anyway, it worth the time invested.
