Colorful crochet

Quilting might be my first passion, but I also love to crochet and knit. It’s a relaxing evening activity while watching the news or enjoying a movie.

Lately it’s all been about granny squares. Easy and fast to do. And I had all these bright colored yarns begging to be made into an afghan.

So after making up a nice little pile, the question was how to join them. I went back and looked at an afghan I made last year, to see how I had joined those granny squares.

Close enough, but not quite what I wanted in this case. So I revisited the class where I had learned that joining technique.  Sure enough, here was the  variation I was looking for.

Really like the way this is turning out. All that is left now is to add a border, and it will be finished. Now, who to gift it to? Hmmm…. I think I might just be starting early on Christmas presents this year!

Let me say again… I just love, love, love these Craftsy/Bluprint classes. I am getting so much out of my yearly subscription… I’m just tickled pink

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I love to dye my own fabrics, am a fanatic of free-motion quilting, and dabble with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
