A framed quilt

About three years ago I lent a quilt to the U.S. Embassy here in Quito for a travelling exhibit on U.S. culture. It went north and south and even to the beach! It seems this particular quilt has seen more of the country than I have!

Weirdly enough, it seems I never took a photo of this quilt. Can’t figure that out… I’m usually pretty good about documenting my work.  So all I had to remind me of this piece was my EQ5 drawing:

This morning my doorbell rang and a very nice embassy driver informed me he was here to return my quilt. Now, if you have ever sent a quilt off to a show, you probably pack it in a box or tube, right? So I wasn’t quite expecting this… would you?

I guess they decided the best way to protect the quilt was to frame it. And it does look great framed. The quilt itself measures 37″ and framed is about 41.” The only cunundrum now is… where am I going to hang this? I don’t have walls left! Hmmm…

Elaine Limes Angie, your quilt is stunning. You claim not to have any wall space left to hang it. This is a work of art. Move something and proudly hang it. Really lovely. thanks for sharing

    It has found a home

Sorry to disappoint, but my son has claimed this quilt for his TV room/studio!
I am happy to share it with him.
