My New Beau

His name is Charlie. Charlie Singer, Esq., to be more precise.

He’s been tweaked. I wanted to say he’s been tweaked for my pleasure, but Jamie said that was highly inappropriate. Instead, I’m supposed to say he’s been adapted for free motion quilting. And that makes me happy.

Charlie is my birthday present. He was super fast and had to be slowed down just a bit for me to be able to keep up with him. They also fooled around with the pressure on the foot, and some other stuff. I don’t know what exactly, but I saw the poor guy’s innards putting up with the assault of a long screwdriver. Some things were loosened and others were tightened. Best of all, he’s very wide. Twice as wide as the domestic machine I’ve been using for FMQ.

And now it’s my turn to practice, practice, practice. Obviously, this baby does not have a stitch regulator. I have to learn to keep the speed steady. Learning something new is always fun. Guess how I’m spending the afternoon. The pressure is on… I am now expected to turn out works of art. I’d better get moving!
