More weekend sewing

I guess I’m no different than any other quilter: no matter how much I try and work in an organized fashion, I, too, am guilty of not finishing projects. Do you make deals with yourself to finish a quilt before starting another one? It’s hard, isn’t it? I often get to the quilting stage and then get excited about a new project, move on to that and leave the previous one… “for later.”

So this is my new deal: I can start a new project as long as I finish a UFO first. So this weekend I finished this little miniature wallhanging. Really silly of me not to have done so months ago. It measures 12.5″ so, naturally, only took a few minutes to quilt. And it is really cute!

Ok, so now on to my next project…

I was working on a small sample for an upcoming Stained Glass class. This is such a quick and easy technique… I couldn’t resist. So I started another project. This will be a small table topper. I’ve been wanting to work on a bougainvillae project for some time now. Every time we go down to our property in the Guayllabamba valley I think about this, as we have bougainvillae growing all along our front wall. It blooms all year long and is such a beautiful sight.

So here I go… cutting all my pieces…

And fused to light-weight interfacing, ready for the bias tape…
