Advent Stoles

I love the Christmas season. It’s probably my favorite time of year. Not the commercial hustle-bustle and the frantic shopping usually associated with this holiday. For me, this is a time to stay home and enjoy meaningful time with the family. It is also a time for introspection. I love the church celebrations around this time – in my particular tradition, I am uplifted by the rituals and the liturgy. Which is why I also enjoy bringing my sewing talents to that liturgy.

With Advent beginning only a week away now, this week I decided to “whip” up some Advent stoles. I even used some of those EPP hexagons that continue to stack up in a basket. It’s fun to be able to work on quick projects like these… quick gratification!

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I love to dye my own fabrics, am a fanatic of free-motion quilting, and dabble with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
