Best online resource for quilting supplies

One of our website members is coming down to Ecuador for a few weeks in August. And, as only a quilter would do, she has offered to set aside a small suitcase for me to fill with fabric and other supplies I am not able to find locally. How cool is that ? 🙂

So yesterday I got busy and did all my online shopping. And this reminded me of a resource I have meant to share but hadn’t gotten around to it yet. If you live in the U.S., you might know of this place. If not, believe me this is the place to save when purchasing supplies. And, if you live outside the U.S. you will be delighted to know this IS ONE PLACE THAT SHIPS TO INTERNATIONAL LOCATIONS!

I am talking about J Hittle Sewing. Everything they sell is at discount prices. And I have yet to find any other online store with better prices. So this is where I stock up. Now, they don’t always have everything I am looking for. For example, I prefer John James or Richard Hemming needles, but that’s ok. Those items I purchase elsewhere. But this is where I purchase the bulk of my quilting/sewing supplies.

One caveat, however. They announce they have been in business for over twenty years. And I think that might very well be how long their website has been up. Which means it is rather outdated and not easy to navigate. They don’t categorize products well. So you end up scrolling page after page after page. This is what it looks like:

Also, once you place your order you won’t receive any confirmation of when it’s been shipped, nor any tracking information. I have e-mailed them a couple of times, however, and although it has taken a day or two for them to get back to me, they have been very helpful and friendly. So for me it’s been definitely worth it because of the savings.

So especially for my *international* friends, I hope this information is useful. Oh, yes, they are also on Facebook.
