Scrappy Potholders

I had so much fun making this scrappy lap quilt, I decided it was about time to start sorting through all the leftover fabric scraps accumulated over the years from a gazillion different quilting projects.

Because I just-can’t-throw-any-itty-bitty-piece-of-fabric… I have quite a stash of scraps. Time to sort them and actually do something with them.

So I started with some potholders. Oh, what fun!

And kept going! I think I have quite a few stocking stuffers now.

I used a basic Log Cabin approach. And went completely scrappy. Also, a quilt-as-you-go approach.

Love, love, love how these turned out!

Want to give this a try? Here’s a video tutorial that explains the process.

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I am learning how to dye my own fabrics and am dabbling with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
