Hmmm… how many of these do you think I can eat?

A weekend to catch up!
All of a sudden I feel like I have really fallen behind with work related (and personal!) activities! It seems we took a lot of photos this summer, so before they fall by the wayside I feel I really need to sort through them, trash the bad ones, organize the good ones, print those that […]
The Process Pledge: a Variation
I see there is an increasing number of quilters out in blogland taking this pledge… and I find this type of sharing very, very exciting! After much debating, I have decided to join in, but feel compelled to do so with a small disclaimer.
Girls’ Beauty Day
Yesterday the five generations of “girls” in our immediate family trooped off together for a morning of primping and pruning. So here are some pics of all my pretty girls. 🙂 My mom is the only one with really short hair. So she just breezed in, had her hair cut in under 10 minutes, and […]
A Million Minutes for Peace
Odyssey Networks invites you to participate in A Million Minutes for Peace. People of different faiths from all over the world will stop at noon and pray for peace for one minute – each in their own way on September 21st – the U.N. International Day of Peace.
Ballerina craze
Ok, so something you should know about me is that it’s a little dangerous to ask me for a “special” design. Why? Because I get carried away and don’t always know when to STOP! One of our members asked me for a ballerina design a few weeks ago. I have just now gotten around to […]
Watermelon Slices!
If you haven’t stopped by yet, this is the latest pattern posted on our website! Just in time for summer!
Back to blogging!
As you can see, we have my new blog up! I hope this will be a friendlier setup, not only easier for you to get around but also to interact with me and other quilting friends! Leave your comment any time you like. And if you have a blog, don’t forget to include the url […]
A framed quilt
About three years ago I lent a quilt to the U.S. Embassy here in Quito for a travelling exhibit on U.S. culture. It went north and south and even to the beach! It seems this particular quilt has seen more of the country than I have!
Silver jewelry
In a previous life (as an interpreter) I was required to dress up for work. This meant I collected suits and shoes as well as briefcases and purses. I also collected jewelry, went to the hairdresser on a regular basis, and used make-up every day.
My new baby
No sewing this weekend. Boo hoo! The good news, however, is that Jared put a new computer together for me (finally… my old one was getting really slowwwww!), and it has taken me pretty much all weekend to move my files over, re-install my programs (I hadn’t realized how much quilting software I have!!!), and […]
Amazing Technology
As I sit writing this, my daughter is sitting on a plane in the Milwaukee airport, taxiing to the runway and soon to lift off. How do I know this? Because for the past few hours I have been keeping her company via Skype.
Day of shaking, banging, thudding and noise!
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned before how privileged we are in where we live. It is unusual in a metropolitan city to be able to live on a large property like ours, with lots of green. If you were to look down from an elevated area, you would easily be able to spot us […]
