Yep. It’s certainly been a while since I last posted. The reason being that over the last few weeks building has been a very large part of my life.

The First Hexie Flower
It’s been well over a month, and that’s how long it’s taken me to piece the 37 hexies that make up one of the five large flowers in my Not My Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt.
A little EPP bragging
And no, it isn’t about me and my 1,100 EPP hexagons. This time it is about that amazingly talented niece of mine!
A growing Rhapsody quilt. And a “little” hand sewing.
My niece Ana Lía is on a semester break, so last weekend she came down for a visit and to finish the applique on her Rhapsody quilt.
Time to brag: Opera iO
You will recall that one of the sacrifices made after moving out of town was Thursday sewing with my sewing circle. Fortunately for me, a year ago precisely my niece Ana Lía decided to join me on those days, and I finally had someone to share sewing with again. We have had to suspend those […]
Ready. Set. Sew!

501 Quilt Blocks (book review)
Although I have quite an extensive collection of quilting books, I still have a soft spot in my heart for the very first book that started my quilting library. I don’t know if it is just because as the only quilting book in my possession at that time I perused it so much until I […]
A great day
You’ve seen me write about *our* Pedrito before. For the last year and a half he’s been handyman and jack-of-all-trades to my mother and me. More importantly, he has become family to us.
It’s a wrap! (Book review)
At times I feel like taking a break from “regular” quilting and try my hand at a small project in order to learn a new technique. Sometimes these creative breaks require time and patience, but at others learning a new technique can be incredibly easy!
Even more complex hexies
After my last post I recalled I have worked with a slightly different concept for pieced hexies before. Actually, they are even more complex than those Mickey Depre teaches in her Pieced Hexies class on Craftsy.
