You’ve seen me write about *our* Pedrito before. For the last year and a half he’s been handyman and jack-of-all-trades to my mother and me. More importantly, he has become family to us.

Grandbabies here!
Okay, okay. So they certainly aren’t babies anymore. Alexia is now as tall as I am, and Julian is getting there…but they will always be my babies. 🙂
Summer has come
And what that means in this little corner of the world where I live is that the rains have pretty much stopped. Temperatures at night can still get pretty cold, but during the day the sun is out… and it is windy. 🙂
It’s finished!
Well, kind of. At least all the construction part. But basically my mom’s new suite is done. Just a few odds and ends that will be taken care of over the next few days.
Passing on the torch
Fanesca is the traditional Ecuadorian dish for Easter. It also happens to be my all-time favorite when it comes to Ecuadorian cuisine. An Alternative Wedding Ceremony
I know… it’s time. Friends and relatives who were not able to be at Jamie and Carlos’ wedding have clamored for photos. It’s taken me long enough, so let me make up for it with this post.
A July wedding
As some of you know, the last month was particularly busy for our family. Two weeks ago Jamie, my youngest child and only daughter, married her boyfriend of two years, Carlos. Here’s their cute “Save the Date” photo:
Moving to the country
I do much better with certainties. 🙂 We now have a clearer picture as to where we all will be living… at least for the immediate future.
New beginnings
The property where we live has been in my family for over forty years. Four generations of our family have lived here during this period. This is where I grew up, and where I have raised my own family the last 22 years.
