Like many of you, I’m addicted to English Paper Piecing. And, yes, hexagons still are my favorite shape to work with, although every now and then I do enjoy breaking away from them a little, and incorporating other shapes.

Time for beads and buttons
July turned out to be an exceptionally busy month. Lots and lots of work. And because we were left without power for a whole week, which involved juggling my whole schedule around, I ended up having to work long hours the last couple of weeks.
My EQ Boutique is Moving!
Earlier this week EQ designers were notified our collections at My EQ Boutique will soon be moved to the Electric Quilt website. I thought I’d pass on this information, in case you are an EQ user and might be interested. So take note… this is the notice:
I’ve a feeling… we’re not in Kansas anymore!
When it comes to threats from national disasters, what we are used to and have learned to prepare for are earthquakes. And, in some parts of the country, also floods.
Announcing Craftsy’s Watch & Win Contest!
A little slow reacting around here, so I had forgotten to mention this great Craftsy contest.
Grandbabies here!
Okay, okay. So they certainly aren’t babies anymore. Alexia is now as tall as I am, and Julian is getting there…but they will always be my babies. 🙂
Right foot forward
Quilters/sewers are know to be… collectors. Of all things sewing-related. I admit to this.
Right around the corner

Summer has come

3 things you should know about me
Should, could, would… I don’t know which it is. So maybe you don’t HAVE to know these things, but might just be curious about some little known facts about me.
It’s finished!
Well, kind of. At least all the construction part. But basically my mom’s new suite is done. Just a few odds and ends that will be taken care of over the next few days.
Using a serger for quilting
I bought a serger at the same time I purchased my latest sewing machine. I’ve used it off and on, mainly to make pencil cases and a couple of bags. I’ve loved using it for these few items, but –admittedly– it’s been underused. So this week I decided to really delve into all its possibilities.
Stitch Bibles
Shortly before I moved I decided to upgrade my Brother sewing machine. I purchased a new model with more decorative and utility stitches than the previous one, and still light enough to carry around with me, if necessary.
