Handmade Gifts

Although as a family we make an effort not to fall for the commercial traps surrounding the Christmas season, I have to admit I do like to give gifts. Even in this, though, I strive for simplicity.

Oh, so delicate, christmassy candle mats!

2008 certainly turned out to be a year of English Paper Piecing addiction for me! Several hexagon table runners, placemats and tons of coasters have been part of the projects accomplished (and actually finished!) this year.

Nice Thanksgiving

Twelve of us altogether, half of them Jamie and her college friends. Half of us quiet and mellow, the other half quite a bit louder – you can guess which half. Good food, good conversation, nobody overate, and in general we had a really nice evening. Not too late because son #1 had to be […]

Preparing for Thanksgiving

Christmas Hexagons

I know… it seems early in the year for Christmas projects. However, I’ve become addicted to English paper piecing lately and since it takes some time, I figured why not start something early and actually have it finished by Christmas time!

Tablerunners: One down, two more to go!

As a break between classes and whenever possible in the evenings if not too pooped, I’ve been trying to reduce my stack of UFOs. This week I finished quilting this Hexagon Star tablerunner I’ve had lying around for over a year!
