Cancer is a devastating disease that touches all of our lives – there is probably no one out there who hasn’t been affected by it in one way or another, either suffering it in one’s own body or having it touch the life of a loved one.

An Alternative Wedding Ceremony
I know… it’s time. Friends and relatives who were not able to be at Jamie and Carlos’ wedding have clamored for photos. It’s taken me long enough, so let me make up for it with this post.
The Applique Garden
Over the weekend we launched our new website…. and now you know what has been keeping me so busy over the last year few months. This, and Jamie’s wedding, and adjusting to a new life, and volunteering, and…
If animals can do it…
… why can´t we? Live in peace, harmony, and love, I mean. You’ve probably seen it before… when brought up together as babies, different animals do get along together, right?
Machine Embroidery Applique
I LOVE Applique. I love to design applique, and I love to sew applique. And, until lately, pretty much everything I sewed was by hand – freezer paper applique was my favorite.

An embellishment project
One of the things I promised myself when I moved out of town was that with all the “extra” time I would now have I would get a lot more sewing time. Ummm…. that hasn’t quite happened yet, at least not as I expected. But I am moving in that direction now.
Adapting a sewing space
In the three months since I moved, I have done very little sewing. Even after the move, unpacking and organizing all my sewing things was left for the end.
A brand new airport
If you’ve ever flown into Quito, you know landing in this city is certainly quite an experience. You see, the city grew around the airport, enclosing it completely, with no space to expand and lengthen the airstrip.
Settled in
Kinda. Or maybe not. In any case, it’s been nearly three months since I last posted, which seems rather revealing about how long it’s taken (or, rather, is still taking) me to adapt to new surroundings.
