Lovely Larkspurs

August was the month to share a (member) tutorial on 3D larkspurs, as part of our Dimensional Flower BOM series. Normally I post the technique, with step-by-step photos of the process. Then there are times such as this one that I feel compelled to complete a project with the finished samples. So today I “threw” […]

Fabric Bangles

Among the many reasons why it is so much fun to have the kids here this summer is because every day there is something crafty going on. These kids are good for me in that way. Yesterday was a particularly crafty day, after the shaving cream fabric dyeing and flower pounding with Julian in the […]

Christmas sneaking up!

I had a tiny panic attack Wednesday night when I realized our sewing circle would be meeting the following day for the last time before Christmas. Petunia’s Case

You know how it goes… You make plans and set goals, as I did for today. And then the interruptions come. Sigh. Oh, well. I was at least able to finish Petunia’s case, just as Jamie walked in the door from school this afternoon. So we tried it on and it fit perfectly!

Oh, so delicate, christmassy candle mats!

2008 certainly turned out to be a year of English Paper Piecing addiction for me! Several hexagon table runners, placemats and tons of coasters have been part of the projects accomplished (and actually finished!) this year.

Gift wrapping ideas

Even though I will not be teaching throughout the month of December, for some strange reason things seem to continue hectic this week. Hmmm. In any case, I am making some progress on gift wrapping ideas. Now I only need to finish the gifts that will go inside!

Preparing for Thanksgiving

As you may or may not know, I come from what I describe as a “mish-mash” family: half of my family born in the U.S. and the other half in Ecuador or other Latin American countries.
