Enough is enough

I learned to crochet at my grandmother’s knee when I was five years old.  Quilting is quite certainly my true passion… but I always seem to have some crochet project going on. In part because of that strong connection with my grandmother, in part because it is easy enough to pick up at any moment, and in part because it is a break from working and sewing, particularly in the evening, while watching the news or a movie. Done, done, DONE!

And this is the last I hope (ever) to write about this. It’s embarrassing that it’s taken me so long. So much so, I actually had lost track of when I began it. Read More »

My Weekend Project

Quite a while time ago I was gifted several patterns that I never sewed, thinking I never have enough time for my own designs, much less for someone else’s. Boy, was I wrong. Read More »

A finished project

I didn’t really get a lot of sewing done during all of 2017. I’m hoping that will change this year. Having (finally) organized my new sewing studio will certainly help… I feel more motivated to start new projects. Read More »

Another day, another BOM!

I read somewhere that January 15 is Blue Monday this year, and as such the most depressing day of the year. It’s all based on some mathematical equation much too complicated for me to understand. Let’s try this again!

Yep. I sure haven’t done too good over the last two years when it comes to blogging. Lots of changes and a fair amount of upheaval are my excuses. That is no longer the case, however. I have pretty much settled into my new house and am back to my regular routine, and it’s time to pick up where I left off. Read More »

Believe it or not, three months after having moved into my new house we are still finishing things. Hopefully that will all end by tomorrow, and I will finally be able to move on to other things. Like sewing, and all things Christmas! Read More »

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I love to dye my own fabrics, am a fanatic of free-motion quilting, and dabble with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
