Finished mosaic quilt

I have been procrastinating for weeks on this quilt. No matter how hard I tried, I simply couldn’t get the mouth area to reflect the original photograph. Last weekend, however, I decided I really needed to just quilt it and live with it!

And I did so. Hmmm….

I know a lot of people really enjoy this technique, but I guess I’m just not a part of that crowd. I was extremely frustrated with the software – I guess I’ve gotten used to working with really good programs, am and just not satisfied with less.

I also found the technique itself rather boring. I guess I’m just not that good with repetitive tasks like this one, where you basically are sticking little squares down on a background. I do think, however, that this would be a good technique to try out with kids, because it is so simple.

Me? Well, I think it’s been good for me to at least try it. I can now say “been there, done that” and move on to something more interesting. I have a feeling I won’t be doing any more of these quilts…
