MIA?

No… not exactly. I haven’t disappeared from the face of the earth… It’s just been a particularly hectic summer, and it looks like the last few months of the year are going to be equally busy.

July was pretty much taken up with our now traditional Christmas in July series, after which I really needed some time away from the computer! So most of August was dedicated to helping my Jamie and her boyfriend with a new venture, as they prepared for a craft fair with their fabric-covered, hand-bound notebooks. This was fun… I learned how to sew and bind the notebooks, and how to prepare the covers. I didn’t actually assemble, but did see the process from beginning to end enough times to think I could actually make these on my own if pressed to do so. I did manage to make one of them by myself, from beginning to end!

I do have pics of the kids’ stand at the fair. Just need to take them off my camera and organize them. Sometime soon, perhaps? Along with the pics I hope to be able to put together a pattern of the fabric cases we made with the leftover fabrics, made to match the notebooks. I just need to carve out some time for all of this.

Summer tends to be a “low” time on our website, which is understandable considering it is the time of year when everyone is outdoors, enjoying the warmer weather. But work does continue for us, and many of our users do find time to sew and share with us what they make. So please check out our Flickr page every now and then to see what others are making… and don’t forget to post your own pictures! One of the last ones posted is a darling wall hanging made from one of our favorite Christmas in July projects… the Snowman Soup. Check it out here!

So good to see you back posting. I was going to write if I hadn’t seen anything this week.
