What I most enjoy doing with my time!

Lots of face masks

Just like everyone else on the planet, my niece and I have also been busy making face masks.

Our 2020 Block-of-the-Month projects

Oh, boy, oh boy, oh boy! As much as I love to draw and prepare quilt patterns, I rarely have time to sew up all these projects. I think this year I am going to have to make the effort. If I say so myself… I’m loving our 2020 BOM projects!

Scandinavian Flowers

A new year… In looking back at what I was able to accomplish during 2019, I am happy. It seems I never have enough time to do all I would like to, but last year I came close.

I am in full Christmas mood. I know, I know… it’s still September… and I just can’t help myself. 🙂

More panel fabric

Trying to decide what to do with more panel fabric. Enter this beautiful wine-themed fabric… yards and yards of it. What was I thinking?

The woes of an independent designer

It’s been a hard year. At times scary. Challenging, frustrating, even annoying. And also exciting, invigorating, inspiring… happy.

A ton of online classes!

I grew up and continue to live in Ecuador, a country rich in handicrafts, from weaving to wood carvings to ceramics, and just about anything and everything you could imagine in between. Except for quilting. My knowledge of quilts was reduced to photos from magazines and glimpses provided sometimes in movies. Not enough information to […]

My Dream House

It’s back! The CD version of this collection, published initially by The Electric Quilt Company, was discontinued a couple of years ago. As I keep receiving requests for it, I finally got around to putting a  downloadable version together, which is now available through our online shop!

Experimenting with natural dyes

Something else I did do throughout June was experiment with a little fabric dyeing, using natural products.

I am a self-learner. I taught myself to sew and to quilt. And I taught myself how to draw. I am learning how to dye my own fabrics and am dabbling with mixed media. I am a quilt designer and teacher, and design and publish my own line of quilt patterns. With this blog I would like to share the bits and pieces of my life.
